Are you buying guitars off EBAY, Reverb, Gumtree or Facebook Groups? Or even new or used guitars from other stores in Australia or from Overseas? We think we have something that might be of interest to you!

Introducing GEniuS™ Direct. You can now have your new guitar or bass shipped directly from the seller straight to our store and have our acclaimed GEniuS™ Guitar Enhancement System with PLEK performed on it to ensure you get the very most out of your new purchase. Our experienced Technicians will put your instrument through one of our two PLEK Machines on-site and craft the perfect fret-dress as well as hand polish and shape your fret-ends, delivering you a superior playing surface. Your new guitar or bass will then be expertly set up to your choice of string gauge, tuning and action height. Everything from the truss rod, electronics and intonation is carefully checked and adjusted to perfection. 

So how does it all work? It’s easy. Just instruct the person or store you are buying from that you want your guitar shipped directly to our Port Macquarie based store (details below). Then head over to our website and purchase a GEniuS™ Guitar Enhancement System with PLEK. You can then call our store on 02 6584 4066 to let us know when the guitar will arrive and how you would like it to be set up for you. Alternatively, we can do the whole process over the phone if you like. 

Once your new guitar arrives at our store, we will notify you and take some videos of it being opened and inspected so you can confirm the condition it arrived to us. At this point, you can alert the seller of anything you are unhappy about before proceeding with the GEniuS™ with PLEK. If there is a major issue like damage or the guitar being not as advertised you can liaise with the seller to have it picked up from our store and returned to them. This is of course subject to the seller’s return policy and you’ll need to speak to them directly about this. If this happens we will only charge a flat $33 handling fee to cover our expenses and refund you the balance of the GEniuS™ with PLEK cost. If you are happy with how the guitar arrived here we can go ahead and do the work for you. 

When our team has completed your GEniuS™ with PLEK, we will get in touch and get you a quote for the return shipping to your location. We only charge actual shipping costs and this will vary depending on your location. Please note, as standard this is not an insured service. Whilst our team goes to great lengths to pack your shipment safely and securely, we can not be held responsible for any damage incurred in shipping by the courier. If you would like to insure your delivery, please contact our shipping team and they will be happy to provide you a quote. Alternatively, you are welcome to organize your own shipping.

Q: How much does this service cost?

A: We are currently charging $299 for our GEniuS™ Guitar Enhancement System with PLEK. 

 

Q: How much is shipping?

 

A: With this service, shipping to our store will be covered by either yourself or the seller and the guitar will come directly to us. Return shipping from our store to you will be charged to you at the rate the courier charges us and our shipping team will get you a quote for this.

 

Q: What if my guitar turns up damaged to your store?

 

A: We will take some videos of your new guitar being opened and inspected so you can see what condition it arrived to us. We will inspect it carefully for damage or issues and alert you straight away so you can take it up with the seller to resolve. We can not take any responsibility for how the guitar arrives to us or what condition it is in.

 

Q: What if my guitar arrives and you find it is not suitable for having a GEniuS™ with PLEK performed on it?

 

A: This would be a rare circumstance but there would be a few reasons for this.

  1. The neck is too far out of spec or can not be adjusted enough to perform the work suitably.

  2. The frets are worn too worn to allow for a PLEK fret-dress.

  3. The guitar is already perfect and cannot be improved. 

In any of these circumstances, we would contact you and advise the best plan of action. If we end up not doing any further work there would just be a flat $33 handling fee to cover our expenses. We would then refund the balance for the $299 paid. You would still need to pay for return shipping to you.    

 

Q: How will I know you have done the work on my guitar? Is there a printout or anything like that?

 

A: We provide a card detailing the work that has been done on your guitar for your records or for proof when you are reselling the guitar. We do not provide a print out from the PLEK itself as significant explanation and training is required to properly understand the information. However, our team are more than happy to discuss any of the work undertaken and explain the process to you.

 

Q: What happens if my guitar arrives back here and it’s not playing as I expected?

 

A: Whilst we go to great lengths to ensure your guitar plays sensationally for you, occasionally settings like the truss rod can change during shipping resulting in the guitar not playing at its best. This is out of our control but please call us if this is the case and we can advise how to make the adjustment to correct this. Rest assured that our staff are here to help you and we back our work 100%! 

 

Q: What if my guitar turns up damaged on its way back from your store?

 

A: Our team are experts in packing and shipping guitars all over Australia every day so this is a very rare event to happen. As our standard shipping method is not insured, neither we nor the courier service can be held liable for any damage or loss. If you are concerned about this you can request a quote for a fully insured service or choose to book your own courier service to have your guitar picked up.
