Guitar Tech/Sales

We are looking for a Guitar Tech/Sales Assistant to join our award winning Port Macquarie NSW based business on a full time basis.

The position involves working in our Repairs Department within a team, setting up guitars to be shipped out to customers all over Australia on a daily basis. The successful applicant will undergo training to develop the skills required to perform our Industry Leading GEniuS™ Guitar Enhancement System with PLEK. The operation of our PLEK machine will also be required and full training will be provided. The work is fast-paced and there is an element of pressure due to the high volume of guitars we process each day. We require someone who has a good understanding of the mechanics of how a guitar works and how to achieve a quality setup. A general confidence of tool use is also required. If you have never worked on guitars before or held a screw driver, this is not the job for you.

You will also be expected to serve customers instore, over the phone and via email. We expect a high level of professionalism in all customer facing interactions. Recent sales experience in the Musical Instrument industry is an advantage but not 100% essential.

Essential Skills:

A love for Guitar/Bass and all things related.

Experience in various tool usage and working on guitars.

Be able to work fast and accurately in a high pressure and time sensitive environment.

Great written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to take specific instruction and then work unsupervised to complete the task.

High attention to detail. Accuracy is a must.

A strong desire to learn and improve.

Be able to work well with others within a close team environment.


Desirable Skills:

Proven experience in setting up guitars professionally.

Retail experience in general.

Recent retail experience in Musical Instrument Retail or Wholesale.


A high level of attention to detail, personal accountability and strong work ethic is essential as you will be working on customers Dream Guitars everyday. Accuracy and a want to produce great work at all times should be a driving motivation for you. We must emphasise that whilst experience in this area is a strong benefit, we put great value in someone’s ability to follow detailed instruction and work in a cohesive manner within our existing team.
